Is there any reason why I couldn't make an adapter for the bolt pattern to change my 10 bolt 7.25" circle to a 10 bolt 11" circle to use 22.5 inch wheels? I finally found someone to work on split rims in my area, but they want a minimum of $50/wheel every time they touch one. It would be cheaper to build adapters.

One can get ‘60’s 22.5’s factory GM wheels with 10 on 8.750” bolt pattern, drill new holes at 10 on 7.250”. Left side in picture.

That seems a bit sketchy to me. If everything isn't perfectly balanced, you have a mess.

Of course, a rotary table or such is required, not a drill press and C clamp exercise, easy to do with proper tools.

I got fed up with trying to find wheels for m 1948 and had some custom made, but they were $$$$$$$$$$$. It's my only project and I splurged.

I image that would be pretty pricey. I'm talking to a guy about making wheel adapters to change from 7.25" to either 8.75" or 11". Waiting on a price. hopefully not as bad as custom wheels.

Adapters out of steel are on the market, I don’t know where, but I would feel safer with a single where, just redrilled, as in the above example. Most any machine shop should be able to do a precision job.
