Where do I start? I have a '49 Chevy 3800 dually and want to get rid of the split rims. I want to use new wheels that will support better truck tires. I want to do this now since I have to replace all 6 tires.

They will fit, I have them on my 1 ton, and are a tad taller than the 17" ones I had.
If you must have your original centers with new rims, call Stockton Wheel. They may be able to help you. After some significant research and pondering, I think I'm going to go with the 19.5s I found on a 58 or 59 (not sure which) Chevy Viking that's in a junk yard nearby. They're tubeless one-piece rims and the bolt pattern, lug nuts, and center hole are the same (by eyeball - I'm taking one of the original rims with me next time I go). I traded them 4 of the rims that you are looking for when I bought my Goodyear G171 8R19.5 tires from them, great price.
They stock the wheels you need, and are great people to work with.

The 19.5 wheels should be very easy to find in a junk yard. I thought most newer duallys were 17's. He'd never go for a junkyard wheel. Where can I look online besides Rickson to price 8R 19.5's? It appears as though the '49 won't handle a 225 or 245 due to width. | | |
