Can anybody share any hints to fastening bumper for a 1950 Chevy truck on a GMC Jimmy frame.

I think the frames should be the same (except minor differences in the front crossmember, but the frame horns should be the same). So you should be able to use the Chevy bumper brackets (available aftermarket) and bolt it right on.

@Kevin. He has a modern frame: 2000 GMC Jimmy.


@Djg: I think you will have to make custom brackets. I made my own brackets for my rear bumper. I bought a reproduction chrome bumper. Brackets were made of 2" square steel tubing and angle iron. I described the brackets in this post:

Should be able to do something similar for the front bumper.
