Thick Chevy,

Can you post a picture of the problem area? pix

Would help us know for sure what section of the cab you are needing to repair. thumbs_up

As a follow-up, here is a link to an eBay ad (Not Mine) offering a full set of both left and right cab "outer and inner rocker panel" patches for a very inexpensive price.

Full Rocker Panels w/ Inner Patch Panels For 67-72 Chevy C10 Truck LH & RH Side

Since the C50 cab is the same as a C10 cab, these should work based on the info you provided so far.

Hope this is of some help! wave

The cab isn't quite the same though the fenders are part of the door which is why I was wondering if patch panels are a option. I do not have a picture right now but will try to get one the next time I go out there

Thanks for jogging my memory! thumbs_up

I went and looked at several C50 1967 pics and understand what you are pointing out about fenders. Forgot that tidbit of info. dang

Will wait to see pictures of what portion of cab you are trying to repair before making any other suggestions.

Happy New Year!

Thick,

From viewing this pic, I am fairly sure the previously mentioned "rocker panel" patch noted will work to provide a replacement "section" for that partial rocker panel area you have circled.

The primary shape of the rocker panels, as well as the width of that sill area, should be very nearly identical.

Just note that you can trim out the section to be patched and replace it with a same sized section from the patch panel, without having to replace the hole length of the rocker panel.

Much easier this way, plus removing such a small section should not compromise the structure. Should be minimal need for bracing of the entire door opening as you would have to do if you are replacing the whole rocker.

Also fairly sure you can find/order just a drivers side rocker panel patch without having to buy the whole kit.

For more info and other posts about doing such cab patch work, take a look in The Paint and Body Shop forum

You may want to ask additional questions there as what you are preparing to do falls right into that category perfectly.

Good luck and let us know how things progress! thumbs_up

Yeah that is what I am starting to lean towards looking at some stuff but right now I need to deal with my split rim issue first. I am just trying to get a plan together for finishing the cab as I plan on removing the cab and painting it at my friend's shop since he has a proper paint booth once she is in good shape mechanically. But I am going to a junkyard next Tuesday that I found has a couple old buses from that gen so hopefully they have something.

Sounds good!

Hope your local yard source pans out.

Would be interested to see pictures of what you come across at the yard if you think they may have interest to fellow Bolters!

Happy New Year!!!
