My old '59 Apache getting it done. 235 with 3 speed.

Nice truck and good size load. You can just drop that off at my house. I’ll figure out something to build with it, like a shed expansion!

Anyone else make their truck too nice and you almost regret it because you can’t use as a truck? I put down moving blankets and try to use it sometimes to do some light hauling but sometimes I kind of wish I would have went a different route.

I don't think I'll get too worried about a scratch here or there. I managed to get it to where it is today and can fix those minor things as well. JMHO
I don't plan on hauling rocks with it though.

My '50 is a beater and will remain that way. Otherwise I would be too afraid of scratching it, etc when I use it.

Thats how I`m restoring my two panel trucks. Everything gone thru..everything. Mechanically ,electrical, frame, brakes, springs..etc.
But the paint is just that. Paint to protect the metal. I cannot drive my truck(s) without fear
of gravel or pebble bouncing off something. Parking lot ding. There no way I could get all into the paint and feel good about driving it anywhere.
So when I sell one of my trucks, someone will have a fine running machine that will last a long time. Like new.
Serviceable when needed. But serviceable as anything should be. They can paint it gloss if they want.

Nice photo Trkn! I need a load of wood to help with the traction when plowing. Six inches of snow is easy but this old workhorse has handled a two foot snow just fine. There may have been a nap and a snack involved though….

I'd have had to have a cup of coffee too.

I spent the better part of three decades in a delivery truck more than half of which was driving rack and pinion vehicles. It really proves that good lubrication in the front end pays a real dividend.

Got to try out my lift for the first time & worked great. 300lb block of granite moved for our historical society.

I use my lift all the time, it's a must have for any flat bed. I need to upgrade to an electric winch as you have.

Looks great a heavy load. Need to put some softener’s on the sharp edge’s of the granite when using the nylon straps. Not being picky just don’t want anyone getting hurt.

First picture is bringing home “The 46” as we call her. The second picture is getting gas to go for a fun ride and stop at fleet farm. You may notice hood is up, yes. Failed to start. A quick jump and we were on our way back. Saved the errand for another day!

A little light duty yard work today for the one ton. Got up to 93 degrees today and low Friday night is suppose to be 27 degrees.
We are in the spring time roller coaster.

Yes Nathan, it was super easy with a lift and a cherry picker. I ordered a couple of 3/8-24 all thread to act as guide pins and was able to hook the picker to a 3/8 eyebolt thru the top bolt hole. It took longer to add the gear lube than to do the swap.
Turns out that I did not get the 4:11 gears like I wanted. The new carrier had 4:57 gears but I think they will work just fine for the local driving I will be using the truck for. It had 5:13 gears in it and I have yet to give it a good drive to town. Maybe this weekend? Speedo is way off now, but that is no big deal.
