My name is Will and this is my 1952 Chevrolet 3100 that’s been in my family for over 60 years. I would like to share my progress as I bring it back to life and learn more about it as I go along. I created a Poject Journal (see in my signature line) and will be updating it.
Look forward to meeting you all.
Thanks for having me and happy holidays!

That looks like pretty solid truck. (Except that owie on the right side running board. )
It's great to have a family truck.
There's plenty of help for whatever you need, including fixing that running board - head over to the Paint and Body Forum for that. Or maybe the Swap Meet forums.

Welcome to the ‘bolt! Wow, 60 years in the family, I bet that created some fond memories.
I looked at your Project Journal and see that you plan on replacing that old 216 with a 235 from a 58 Biscayne. I have a ‘59 235 in my ‘52 so it will be the exact swap. That engine sill be a great upgrade for your truck. You’ll be going from 90 HP to 145. When you are ready, I and our fellow ‘bolters, can help with this swap.

Very nice looking "family" truck! Many here have and are working on similar "family" owned trucks.
See you have been a member for a while already. Glad to see you have decided to post your pics and info.
Look forward to your future posts!
Again, Welcome!!!

Will, glad to have you here! It's amazing to have a truck in the family that long, a truck like that becomes family after 60 years, a lifetime to some. Welcome to the "BOLT"

Yes I've been trying to decide on that running board. Since I know the story behind how it happened, I'm not sure if I should keep it or try and pound it out. It definite does not look that great. I'm curious to know how to fix it. I'll check out the forum.

Hi Phak1
Thats great that you have a 59 235 and some experience with this motor. When I pull a hill with the truck it's falling on its face and bogging down pretty bad. I'm still trying to get a feel for the 216 if it needs rebuild or not.
Thanks Gdads51! I posted a brief Journal back in January but I was still grieving the loss of my Dad pretty bad and wasn't ready to really "go there" with the project. All part of the process you know.

Wow! what a statement. So true! It really does become family. I still find it hard to believe myself making it through all these years.
If you are not aware of the different location of newer 235/261 engines, here is a linkg to a post to the water pump relocation plate (keep your original water pump)?
