Hi Folks!
Name's Anton, 32 year old from Sweden, and I just joined this forum as I recently purchased a 1957 Chevrolet 6500 Fire Truck with a 261 engine. I affectionately refer to this girl as "Ignis", as in the latin word for fire. I thought I'd post a quick slideshow for you all, in case you're interested

She came to Sweden through the GM Nordic division, from what I've been able to find out she was put likely together at the Copenhagen factory as far as chassis, drivetrain and front goes, and then she was delivered to Sweden and was built up as a fire Truck. So basically, the body from the firewall and back was most likely Swedish built, but I haven't found out by whom... If anyone knows I'd be very interested to know! It's an interesting construction with sheet panels nailed to a wooden frame, which has sadly seen better days and needs a total rebuild...
I have gone over the engine and done some basic maintenance in preparation of waking her from her long slumber, changed the oil and filter, ignition coil, leads, spark plugs, fuel pump and have gone over the carb, as well as some electrical wiring needing to be redone (mice). I have managed to get her started but not running quite well just yet, I suspect carb issues so if anyone feels like helping me out with that I have a thread in the technical department. Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

Cheers!
/Anton.
