Nothing major, but started swapping out the ratty old tires for new ones. Running 8.25-20 on the rear and 7.50-20 on the front. Thought I was going to be slick and keep the fronts on while I mounted the new 7.50 on one of the rims from the back. Worked great, until I went to install it. I don’t know if this is common or what, but my center hole diameter is 4.75” on the rear and 5.25” on the front. 🤦🏻‍♂️

It's not normal to have two different size center holes.

What size is the front hub...4.75" or 5.25"?

What type a multi piece rims do you have...are the fronts and rears the same?

Front hub is 5.25”, rear is 4.75”. It is a 3 piece Kelcey rim. The two that were on the front have the correct hub size and so do the 4 that were on the back. The truck is 68 years old, so who know what might have been replaced over the years. I thought for sure the fronts and rears would be the same.

5.25 hub diameter came on 55.2 trucks first, not know of earlier application. Perhaps someone added later parts, whole axle even? ‘54 could have been earlier application, perhaps rear was using up old parts, unusual though with two sizes on one truck.

Sounds like someone swapped out the original 1954 rear axle assembly, for an older 47-53 assembly.
