Nothing sounds cooler than those air spinners. You'll get great looks at the drivethru!

I'm seeing the front engine mount as a rubber block but those rear bearing blocks look pretty darn solid to me. Is that what I see or are my eyes playing tricks on me? | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 . | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 | The front mount and the section of crossmember are stock for the 78 GMC 6500 the engine came from. It is actually just like the stock 216 mount just a tad bigger.
The rear mounts started as rear mounts for a Louisville Ford truck. Like would have come with a 3208 Cat, and even the gas v8 engines too. I bought new rubber parts and made the engine side. I machined the frame side from what was originaly the engine side of the ford setup.
The rear mounts hang all of the engine and trans less about 125# on the front mount.

Did you completely design that disc emergency brake??? | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 . | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 | yes, I bought the caliper, reused the lever, and made the rest. | | | | Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 482 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jul 2006 Posts: 482 | Where did the caliper come from???? | | | | Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 156 Shop Shark | Shop Shark Joined: Jun 2003 Posts: 156 | That is going to be one neat ride. You will have to make us a video of it so we can hear it.

Boy it looks good! It looks like it was an original installation. What Detroit engine is it? The last picture is of the frame you found for me right?!! Looks great! Rick | | | | Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 . | . Joined: May 2005 Posts: 8,877 | Thanks, I am trying to build it as GM would have built it in 48 if the 4-53T engine was available then.
The frame is almost ready for sand blasting and powder coating. I have finished making pieces for it and also have finished putting in all the missing or broken rivets. Only some welding and stuff to do to the front crossmember now.
