I guess he has no idea what an "Original Restoration" is. It is far from that, as they didn't come from the factory with many things he did.
Just wow the work done though. And this all shows the folly of using all that bracing in the cab when cutting out panels.

Ya, like a stained oak bed.

Best thing about the video is that he doesn't have some rotten music blaring through the whole thing like most videos.

Its more of a slide show than a video. You have to question the logic though. The rust outs in the cab that he did fix yet almost a cab built of new panels. He should have replaced that whole cowl upper and lower, if it had that rust hole the inside of it must be a total mess.
I wonder how much spent on all the panels, and then of course all the time. It all did seem to line up good, and the bracing was not involved. I wonder what the cost is to build a cab from just the panels? Maybe cheaper than a total new cab from Dynacorn type places.

I couldn't figure out why he welded the starter hole and the other one? Then of course the fuel tank filler hole. Yeah "Original" restoration. And what original cab is full body color inside other than a Cameo?

The man has skills. Saved a truck that was in horrible condition.

Built his truck the way he wants it.

With the amount of awards he’s won with the truck, somebody obviously likes it.

Someone, hopefully a young person will see that truck and take enough of an interest in it, that they’ll want one. A good thing for our hobby.

I admire the man’s ambition and skills even if the truck is not like it rolled off the assembly line.

When people ask about my truck and I start singing I did it my way and they go away. Maybe because of my singing or maybe not. yahoo. I have been asked numerous times to inter in shows but I tell them no, that I did it my way with my money, time, and ideas and I don't need their approval or disapproval. BTW good job.

The thing is he started it off saying original restoration. Yeah do it how you wish. Problem is if it is rare parts that are totally messed up in the process, that is almost like tossing them in a scrap bin.
There are so many parts that are not re made. The big one is the frame, and how many of them have been trashed now?

Perhaps he was going for "original appearing" restoration. The only big change I see here is that he relocated the fuel tank.

Sounds like you're just being nitpicky. ohwell

Yes when it comes to these Task Force trucks I am. I have seen too many of them historically ruined. So much so there is only a few folks left in this world that know what they looked like back in the day.
Can't stand the show but that Mark Worman guy at graveyard cars strives for factory stock restorations, and knows his mopars. I wish there was someone like that for old GM trucks. Yeah I know most don't care.
Thank fully there are some that do though.
What the guy did in the video is great I think he did a wonderful job, and happy it was a rusted out mess he fixed. I'd give him an award for his accomplishment too.

I don't think this will ever be concourse de elegance. But it will be something a person can aspire to and be proud of. Great job. Some comments I think came from the big green monster, Envy.
