Hi All,

I met a guy named Pete in Colorado with this interesting truck. It's on an 80 K30 fame. He moved the engine foward about 14" and it had the fan right behind the radiator. He also used a Van steering box. I have a lot of other truck pictures--check out my home page link in my profile. JC

I saw a similar one at a local car show a few weeks ago.

The white paper was a for sale sign listing all the features and modifications. Pretty cool.

JC:

I was browsing through your huge Yahoo photo collection that you linked in your initial post. There's a photo of (what appears to be) an Art-deco era 4x4 Chevy 1.5 ton. Do you know anymore about this truck? I've been dreaming of building something exactly like it. There's an unrestored '41 1.5 ton for sale locally and I'd like to buy it and add one ton axles (modifying appropriately - perch relocation and narrowing). A divorced transfer case would be used, or a later 4-speed tranny with transfer case attached. I want this to look period - no monster mudder ambitions here. Here's the truck I'm talking about:

I think that one came from a military vehicle site several years ago. I'll see if I can track down more info on it.

Thanks JC. It looks nothing like the military Chevy 1.5 ton, which has the completely different fenders and hood. The civilan body is what made me so curious.

I wonder if that COE and the truck I referred to earlier are 4x4 military 1.5 ton Chevy chassis with different bodywork? That snubnose makes me weak in the knees!
