Yes, that is what it will always be to me as that has real meaning. The shooting stopped at the 11th hour of the 11th month on the 11th day. We went to school at 8:00 am and were lectured on the history and meaning of the occasion and then let out of class at 10:00 to watch the parade. The biggest applause was for the Doughboys in their WW1 uniforms. In 1942 many were only in their 40's and had fresh memories of trenches and gas.
