Saying a prayer for Alvin's recovery. Like Peggy says, the docs need to get him fixed.

Just heard from Alvin. The Dr. told him to discontinue taking the medication and try to eat a basic diet, a few small portions throughout the day. He will have the ultrasound on Thursday but can't see the Dr. until Tuesday.I told him to get some rest and I would check on him later. ... Peggy, he really appreciated your message.

Alvin had his ultrasound yesterday,,they looked at the Gallbladder, Kidneys, Pancreas and Aorta. He won't meet with the Dr. until Tuesday. He is still having pain in his abdomen and is having issues eating. Going to be a long weekend for our friend. Keep the prayers coming.

Thanks for doing these updates, Craig.

It's been fun to send Alvin little notes via text. A few memes to lighten his day, a wee bit. A few others to give him encouragement.

It is going to be a long weekend. I'm thinking the church family will roll in. Being distracted like that does help with pain.

Talked with Alvin last night. He is extremely tired and just out of energy, he is in almost constant pain across is abdomen. His SIL has been staying with him at night and helping him with his Meds. During the day he is pretty much on his own. His Dr appointment is Tuesday afternoon, he's hoping that there will be some good news. He said he's lost so much weight that his clothes are falling off.

I don't have to tell you all that I'm more than a little worried a this point. Keep the prayers coming.

Another quick note from Alvin. He is in his room and they're going to to give him something stronger for the pain. He will probably have more tests in the morning, now they're just wanting him to rest.
I'll keep everyone posted on is condition. Keep praying.

Thanks Craig. Poor fellow. I sure hope the meds work for him so he can sleep. Maybe they'll give him a little 'p.t.' ... only walking maybe.

Praying for good doctors for him. And a sweet sleep.

Got a text from Alvin late last evening. They did another ultrasound and have more tests planned for this morning. He was tired but wasn't hurting as bad at that moment. He said his Dr. is wanting to find out what is going on, he may be in there a few days. I hope to hear from him this morning.

Alvin sent me a message late last night. The surgery went well and he was recovering, his daughter was there with him. He is supposed to get released later this afternoon. He said he is sore and tired but glad it's over, he didn't mention anything about a follow up with his Dr. but I'm sure he will have one. I hope that this takes care of his pain and being able to eat. I will give him a call later this morning and see if he's up to talking a bit.

I wonder if another day, just to be sure, and for him to get a little more rest, would be better. After all he's been thru, having a day of observation ... it's not even been 24 hours since the surgery.

Heard from Alvin last evening. His Daughter is in charge, she has him up walking outside and keeping him in check. He said he's still sore from the surgery but that will pass. He hopes that the gallbladder was the root of all this, time will tell. Hopefully he will feel up to posting something himself.

"His Daughter is in charge, she has him up walking outside and keeping him in check."

That's good to hear. That walking will also help him sleep.

Praying for wisdom for the rest of the way. smile
