I am looking for some 22.5" wheels with the 10 lug on 7.25" bolt patern.
Are these what I need?

Or is the pattern bigger than that?

The '55 2nd thru '59 big trucks are all 6-bolt I believe. I'd love to find a good set of 'modern' wheels with decent tires for mine. That (pretty) green truck probably has 20" wheels for that matter.

I have 2 6500 series trucks 1955 and 1956. 1 has the same bolt pattern as yours (5 bolt front, 10 bolt rear), and 1 has the 6 bolt pattern. Both are 20" wheels. It was easy to find the 6 bolt 22.5" Budd wheels but I haven't found the other s in 22.5". I am told they are harder to find and are more expensive. They are out there. I would see if you can find any big rig auto wrecking yards. They might be able to help tell you what to look for.

I talked to the seller of the truck on Ebay.
Yes they are 22.5" with the 10 lug on 7.25" diameter.

I also talked to Bob Adler, he has some of the same wheels and says they were available starting in 56, don't know till when?

Now I just need to find a set.

The list of features on that truck says 19.5" tires, which is correct for 4400 series. I am working on 49 4400, took off the 20" wheels, got some 19.5" from an early 60's 4400 for rear. Missed the fronts because he junked frame and axle with them, (durn!). Even up to 99, the HD3500, which is same as 4400 has the 10-lug 19.5" wheels. The center hole is a bit larger on these wheels than my 49, but 54 and up all have that bigger center. Seems like 5-1/4" if I recall. The bolt pattern is the same. I have a lead on some 22.5's myself for the front, but haven't connected yet. These are really close to same OD, even though rims are bigger. Think it was more a way to keep the 20's from being mixed up and fitted on wrong rims and such. The big 5-bolts were more on GMC's and of course Ford used the big Budd nuts on theirs. If you have a trim ring on yours, or make a pattern off wheel, just carry it around in your truck or car, keep an eye out, use those for comparing the patterns.

Don't ya just Love this wheel changing problem??? I do it for every old rig I keep, it takes awhile to find and is really a PIA. Sometimes if you run accross a big enough Delivery Bread type van, they will also have those 19.5" in 10 lug, but most are 8 lug on those.

GLPerry,
I have 4 of the new 19.5 10 lug wheels from a 3500HD.

But I need a set of the 22.5" ones.
Want to trade?
