How do you guys plumb the defroster hoses? One 2" hose from the heater needs to split into two 1.75" hoses for the vents. I guess I need a three-way splitter in but am having no luck finding one. Any ideas? Thanks. Jethro.

The stock heater comes with a Y splitter attached. Is your heater stock?

Dad bought it new in 54 as a service truck. No heater, they bought and installed a junkyard Mopar Deluxe. No defroster. No defroster vents. Added in the 70's was a cut up plastic oil can for a vent on the driver's side and a hose to the outlet on the heater. I have installed 2 vents and would like to find a splitter to hook them both up. Thanks.

Post an ad in the swap meet. I'm sure someone has a spare heater box laying around that you could get a splitter on. You might also find the correct defrost vent fittings. The originals are made of pot metal and screw in place from under the dash. I see that Jim Carter has them made of sheet metal for $20 each. Link

My 49 has (I'm told by the parts guys based on diameter) older Ford defroster ducts (I forget the diameter, but smaller than 1.75" - took some time to find the right stuff) and a 30's vintage GM Master.

So for mine, I made one by swelling up some exhaust pipe to match the ducting and welding up my own "Y" with larger pipe to slip over the GM heater. Serves the purpose. Wasn't a big job - nobody can see it anyway.
