I'm slowly going over things on my new project truck and came across this hose. I'm not real familiar with 270's, but I'm guessing that this has something to do with the cooling system. If it is, I highly doubt that it's doing much good being kinked like that. Can someone shed some light on it for me. Thanks
The truck probably used to have a heater and the hoses are now just looped together to bypass it. Likely the heater was removed or if its still there, the heater core is leaking.

The threads in the lower thermostat housing and the water pump where those hose barbs are located are National pipe thread (NPT). You can remove the hose barbs and hose and use NPT plugs in the holes.
