The ones I have gotten at the parts store are to big. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 586 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Jan 2006 Posts: 586 | You can make one using a threaded rod 1/2 dia. or larger,two nuts to fit the rod,two bolts to fit your steering wheel threads and a piece of steel with three holes drilled in it.Soak the spline on the steering wheel with Kroil or Liquid Wrench over night to help you out.

You get your buddy to pull up on the wheel while you put a ball peen hammer on the shaft. Take another hammer and give it a whack and the wheel pops off. Someone yelled that hitting two hammers together is dangerous because the striking surfaces are tempered and can shatter, cause injury. He claimed that the ball end of a ball peen isn't tempered. Frankly, I wasn't sure I believed him so I just use a big brass hammer on the ball peen. Works every time!!! | | |
