Little or no modifications? This would solve a brake upgrade problem and get a taller gearset for this truck. Thanks in advance for anyone's advice! | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,066 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,066 | There would be no gain on the gear set as both the 50 and 57 are 3/4 ton vehicles and would have a 4.57:1 rear axle ratio. Could be a brake upgrade but you would likely have to relocate the spring mount pads on the later rear end to match the 50. Fred

I could easily move the spring mount pads. Do you know if the '57 is the same width as the "50? Or super close? I can't get to the '57 to measure it as it's a distance away. Thanks! | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,189 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,189 | If you measure your 1950 tire tread centers and compare it to the 1957 62.25" center of tire tread to center of tire tread you'll have your answer...I don't have info on the AD trucks... A 4.10 was an option in 67-72 3/4 ton trucks but not in a 57. The center section may have been changed out using a later assembly. If so, go with it. Fred
