Anyone got a picture or diagram showing the bracket that mounts the external parking brake band to a spicer 5 speed? Got a 59 chevy 2 1/2 ton that doesnt have one and trying to put one on. Any pictures in general would be helpful too.

Since the truck was a firetruck, it had a parking brake behind the pump but that is long gone, so I am left with the lever and a super long rod. There are 3 mounting studs left on the drivers side of the trans where a normal brake would have gone. I got a band assembly from someone off a clark transmission i believe since its 9 1/2x2 1/2 instead of 9 1/2x3" but dont have the drum or attaching bracket yet.
Ill get some pictures this afternoon.

If i had the original driveshafts, i would love to add a brownie but unfortunately its cut to fit without one. Maybe some day. Basically everything that touched a piece of fire equipment was cut off with a plasma cutter.

Reviving this in my search for a drum. I made a post in parts wanted, but does anyone know if there is another transmission that has a parking brake drum that would fit my spicer 3152? At this point I dont care if it is narrower like the clark or wider like the spicer, I just need something!

Anyone know what transmissions have the same parking brake? Are all the spicer 5 speeds the same? If there is a more common one, maybe i can search for that.

My parts books show Chevrolet only used one Spicer 5-speed from 1956-66. They all used the same Drum (Spicer 20B-54). You'll need to contact Dana/Spicer to see what other transmissions might have shared this drum. Drums from other manufactures won't have the same bolt pattern or drum center disc offset. You'll need to match your output shaft Flange bolt pattern with the Drum.
