For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 86 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 86 | If one were to put a newer diesel in a '54 4100 or 6400, what would be the best setup in terms of ease of installation, cost effectiveness, transmission & axle options etc? Would it be better to fit the old truck body to a newer frame? If so, which one. I want the looks and capacity of the old and performance of the new.

I am doing my own conversion on a 48 6400. Obviously I am doing what I think is best for my needs. You need to find out what yours are before you will have answers as to how to build your truck. | | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 86 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 86 | Thanks Grigg, that was a great suggestion; I found what I was looking for. No need for anyone to post on this topic anymore.
