Earlier I went to my local 55 year junk yard. bought a battery from nov. of 21 $40. took it to the barn truck. Well ... forgot I had already put a battery in there. This was during that dither to get ready to go to KC for that roundup !!

Anyway propane winch truck fired right up. Eased it up to the house. Filled master cylinder brakes, pumped right up. Cleaned dust off of windows and mirrors and loaded my Hobart extremely heavy portable welder (built by my Dad in the late forty's). Fired up its ve 4 Wisconsin cleaned its commutators and struck up an arc.

So that was a tremendous Monday !!

BC59 too busy is right, neighbor brought his stump cutter over and whittled out a 6 foot diameter stump for us. I was surprised things went so well on my winch truck, however cable got off of a sheave and in a crack, took a while to get that back. Original 216 babbitt 51 3600 is still tuff, gin poles go up to 13ft. 6inch so gotta watch for limbs etc. Does about a ton,you know those railroad trucks you see with an autocrane on them ?? My crane is the first generation of those, only thing power is the actual winch. Great for anything heavy, have pockets for 1 1/2 pipe down low so you can set heavy stuff on there to get it off of your cable. Bed is 2 inch oil field pipe with "sucker" rod welded paralell to the frame so firewood trash falls on thru. Gonna go fire it up now, more later. fix

If you can get photos on the computer then just follow the instructions in the left margin of every page.
