Can someone answer a question for me, I've got a '51 GMC 451 and I've been told that the body panels/parts for the pickups will not work on my truck as their too small. Is there any truth to this? I'm needing to replace the cab corners, but I'm only finding stuff for pickups. Oh, while I'm at it, does anyone know if there are replacement rear hood braces on the market? Mine are rusted out where the hinges connect and I have to use a 2x4 to prop the hood. Thanks to all

The big rigs have wider front fenders, with a different wheel opening to fit the bigger tires and wheels. The cabs are the same as the pickups, so cab corner repair panels should work. I believe the hood, grill, and possibly the radiator support might be different on the 1 1/2 ton and above trucks.

What Jerry said. Cabs are the same. Only the COE is different in the front half.

As far as the hood brace issue, if by that you mean the cross support at the rear of the hood, it should be the same between Chevy and GMC, although the front of the hood is different. It should be fairly easy to find a decent hood to replace that piece. I don't know if that piece is reproduced.

Cool old truck. thumbs_up Welcome to Stovebolt.com!

Take a few minutes to go to the Welcome Centre and tell us about yourself and your truck and how you came to own it.

If you're smart enough to take it apart, you darn well better be smart enough to put it back together.
