When he drove off I didn't see a cloud ,but just that puff of oil smoke typical of high mileage smallblocks, no big oil drops left behind either.I figured a quart every 50 miles is a real smoker, whats up? | | |

I HAVE SEEN LOTS OF BURNERS BUT NO SMOKE.
THE ONLY THING I CAN FIGURE IS THE CAT GETS SO BLASTED HOT IT BURNS EVERYTHING.

I started getting splashed by little drops. I turned the wipers on and smeared oil all over the window. I had to get off the freeway to clean it off. I think it was 50 wieght. If the catalytic converter was burning that much oil it would get clogged in a matter of months.
Maybe it only leaks when running above idle. I would check the bottom of the car and look for signs of oil.
