54 3100 stock torque tube rear end six lug axle...
Anyone have a valid part number for axle seals? Left rear is leaking.

The link above for the 54 rebuild kit is not working. Also, I have found a lot of crossover parts. Does this kit work for a 46 1/2t rear?

Jethro,

Do a web search with "1954 3100 rear axle seal". You will find a host of current vendors selling just the seal. The prices are for the most part pretty close to each other. Your choice on which vendor to choose.

bigedpa,

Tim's links all worked for me this morning. I did a quick check of a couple vendor sites (Not Mine) -
The Filling Station https://store.fillingstation.com/dept/Transmission/cat/Differential.html
Chev's of the 40's https://www.chevsofthe40s.com/dept/Rear+Axle/cat/Ring+%26+Pinion.html (unknown why this link doesn't display correctly? cut and paste works)
Both show different kits for 1940-50 and 1951-54. Hope the info is helpful!

Rockauto lists National 414045 for my '51, which I bought and installed. But for '54 trucks, they list National 450666, although they don't say what series they fit. If it's a torque tube axle, it should be the same thru '54. The axle diameter is 1.578" for the 450666, which is smaller than for the 414045 at 1.875".

Most seals, etc, have a number stamped on them for ordering new ones upon disassembly.
