| | | Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 71 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Jan 2020 Posts: 71 | Was wondering if anyone could give me some insight on what cars with steering columns with automatic shifters in them would fit into my '66 C-10.
I'm moving from a 3 spd 3-on the tree to a 700R4 over the winter and looking for good options for steering columns. I would prefer to keep my original steering wheel thus I've been staying away from aftermarket columns, seems most of those won't allow the OE steering wheels.
I would certainly be interested if someone had a 66 auto column that they want to sell.
Would also like to know what models of the C-10 will fit without problems in the '66, will all '60-66 fit, or just '63-66? I don't know and looking for your expert opinions.

| | | | | Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Apr 2005 Posts: 2,832 | They are like hens teeth now but 67-72 Chevy van columns are what Ididit and Flaming River units are patterned after and a near direct bolt in. Others are going to require fab work so is this in your wheel house? 61-66 Chevy (GM) cars are probably the next easiest. If you want one for an OD trans then your stuck with the huge unit with dimmer, cruise, 41 inch TV, shower head,etc. You only NEED one with park-reverse-neutral and drive selection. Junkyard and tape measure are your friend here.
