Some time, we really need to get a 1-ton with original/correct bumpers and brackets next to a 3/4-ton and compare.
In my own limited experience, I could not get *all* of the bolts holes to line up until I had the correct bumper AND brackets. I could get *most* to line up, but that was with prybars...and the bumper was off center.
Considering the different brackets I went through until I found a set that fit BOTH the truck AND the bumper, I am thinking the 1-ton and 3/4-ton brackets *may* be different. 1/2-ton and 3/4-ton brackets *might* interchange with each other, though -- not sure
The rear bumper will be different. You'll want to use one for a 3600.
Why? The 1-ton bumpers are as stated above -- unique to the 1-ton. The brackets may be as well. If he's hanging a bumper on the back of a 1-ton, he needs to find a 1-ton bumper -- no other bumper will fit correctly.
