The people who had the truck set it up as a water tanker and discovered they needed more truck for the tank. So, the tank came off and the truck was for sale. While in central Kansas this weekend, I asked my friends' Dad if there were any old Chevy or Dodge trucks around for sale, preferably pre-'80 and cheap. He told me about the '47 & who had it, so, we went to where it had been parked for the past several months...gone. It was for sale for $500, from what he said. Running, complete cab and chassis, just add a bed!
Oh, well. There's more out there.

It has a Truckstell Tandem Axle conversion unit on it. 30' boom on crane with seperate IH 4 cylinder engine. Everything works. Half cab for boom to lay down. LOL....know of a i think 56 one ton also...

| | | | | Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 86 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2004 Posts: 86 | I have a '54 6400 and a '54 4100 in need of a complete restoration, but if they were for sale ( which they could easily be) they would be cheap. The 6400 cranks, would probably run, has a propane setup and a decent bed . Both have fairly straight metal and bad glass. I haven't had a chance to fool with the 4100. It has a bed frame. My conundrum is that I have located an excellent unrestored '54 that I covet. However I would have to let the other trucks find a new home before this new puppy could follow me home.
