here's a simple question for you pros: what tests should I try to determine why my fuel gauge stays at empty..yes, I filled the tank!!
also....who sells the most complete zenith carb rebuild kit?? jets, needles, float, etc. my truck started running funny last fall..coughing and stalling. last summer I replaced everything in fuel system except sending unit and carb. it needed new hoses so I did all of it. ignition is a fireball electronic in stock distributor (no points!!!) and plugs, wires, and coil are new.
I took carb apart and cleaned it and it seems to run better, but I need to rebuild it. :p

Do a search on gas gauge here and read all the info. This has been covered pretty well. I would probably disconnect the battery, pull the sender unit and check the float. Most of the old ones have gone south with pinholes and full of gas.
Take your carb #'s into NAPA and they should be able to get you a standard kit. Try to get the "deluxe" kit if you can. There is a lot of stuff on carb cleaning and rebuild here to search too. Good luck.
