Until I can get my stock steering wheel horn squared away, I’m hoping to temporarily put in. 6v universal horn button. In looking at the ‘39 wiring diagram, I see that one wire from the horn is connected to power from the ammeter and the second wire goes to ground. Since I’ll be running new wires to the universal horn button, I’m not sure where the ground wire connects to ground so I’m hoping someone can give me a pointer on where I can connect the universal horn button’s ground wire. Thanks so much!

Ground should be anything metal on the truck. You can check that with an ohmmeter.

As Paul says...... Hot wire to horn, no change. New wire from horn ground terminal to one terminal of new button. Wire from other button terminal to nearby clean metal spot. You can check that by pushing button.

Do you want me to cut it down? I will if it's too much.
