I have found the bolts on each side above the front tires, but I do not see any others. I see some brackets at the rear of the cab but no bolts just empty holes going up thru the brackets. I am removing the cab in one piece, fenders, hood and all. I removed the radiator and found 2 bolt holes in bottom of radiator support and again no bolts... did they all just fall out over time or were they never there. This truck has had a rough life and has been parked for a very long time. Does anyone have any pictures of where they all are. | | | | Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 Crusing in the Passing Lane | Crusing in the Passing Lane Joined: Jun 2011 Posts: 5,096 | It is very to remove the front fenders, core support, etc. as one piece with two guys, then the cab is pretty much ‘stand alone’, much easier to remove.

Those old time rivited frame guys really put the frame thru it's paces, and afterwords frame still strajght rivets tight ready for more !! My 51 6400 out there has hauled thousands of bushels still just fine, had a few chain bites from poor hitching, nothing a BFH wouldn't take care of !! | | | | Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,189 'Bolter | 'Bolter Joined: Mar 2004 Posts: 6,189 | Welcome to the Stovebolt! Pulling the entire cab with the front clip attached will put a lot of stress on the fenders. If it were me I'd remove the front clip and then lift the cab off. The clip is attached at the firewall via bolts at the top and bottom of the fenders, at the inner fender/firewall and under the core support...as long as you can get at the bolts it's pretty easy. Also, if your truck is a COE than it's a 5000 Series...the 4000 and 6000 Series are conventional cabs. The rot is why I was wanting to pull it all in one piece. I am not worried about the weight as I have equipment that I can use to pick up everything. I was really wanting to find out the locations of all the bolts I need to remove to be able to get the cab off the substruction. I see the single big bolts above the front tire on each side. I can see what appears to be mounts at rear of cab but there is no rubber there and no bolts, just holes where the bolts would be?? | | | | Joined: May 2015 Posts: 9,830 Housekeeping (Moderator) Making a Stovebolt Bed & Paint and Body Shop Forums | Housekeeping (Moderator) Making a Stovebolt Bed & Paint and Body Shop Forums Joined: May 2015 Posts: 9,830 | The COE (5000 series) use the same style of shackles at the rear as the conventional cabs, and the bolts you found near the kick panels. The shackles are shown in the Factory Assembly Manual (Section 1, Sheet 3.16) They differ from the conventional cabs in that the frame side brackets are mounted to the subframe horizontally as opposed to vertically on the frame for conventional cabs. It sounds like someone has already unbolted the shackles at the rear.
