Anyone have a source other than the resto rip off places. 1$+ for one bolt is ridiculous.

Don't see any reason to use those. They are in unseen places. Talk yourself out of it. But I'll look for you.
Find someone in parting tractors. They use those. That will be cheap.

bartamos, they are seen. They mount the rear fenders and are visible from the inside the bed. I like the unusualness of them. I’ll search your link.

thumbs_up Well OK then. I see. Of course, don't pass up any length longer than 3/4 as you know. Cut em off and thread em.

Martin, I just browsed around for those yesterday, and there are a couple of places that sell full sets for a touch less than $1/bolt. I don't recall where that was though. I think you may just have to pay the piper. I haven't found anywhere that sells them for less. Even my go-to hardware spot (McMaster-Carr) doesn't have them. frown On the other hand, I just saw that Brother's truck sells a set of 20 for $79 and it didn't even say they were stainless. big_eek

I know that they are not authentic but I am planning to use torx pan head bolts. They appear similar except the shape of the internal drive feature and are more readily available.

And the fact that the torx is something that you can get out!

Check out Mr G's.

Even if you don't get the clutch heads, he has every oddball type of fastener you can imagine. His website is also a good reference to identify oddball fasteners and clips, etc. If you can't find them in his catalog, give him a call. He's pretty helpful.

His catalog pages will print out with the fastener profiles and heads in actual size so you can lay your existing part over the picture to verify correct fit.

Thanks Otto, I’ll have to call. They do not list clutch heads in the published information but considering their business caters to concourse restoration folks the bolts may just be stashed away somewhere.

Right now he wants Clutch Head.
Classic truck has exactly what he wants. But they are $1.25. minus discount.
Martin, life is short, bite the bullet and buy them. The 5/8 long are 99 cents minus discount. Some yahoo on Classic wrote 5/8 "dia". May work. just 1/8 short. See the 41-54 fender screw.
No washers for the 5/8, locktite

Gord, I have access to those at our local Mom and Pop hardware store or Tractor Supply.

bartamos, I have looked at those and the same ones at the other suppliers. I could “bite the bullet” easily enough but I’m really not that much of a purist especially with this restomod truck. I just thought if Clutch Heads were readily available in bulk I would put them back on. Since they are not I’ll probably go with the local hardware store stuff.

Thanks everyone.

Maybe they go by another name? Or maybe he lists them as something else, like GM bolts or something. As much stuff as he has, I'd be surprised if he doesn't at least know what they are or who else might have them.
