FINALLY! I've been trying to register for days! (Maybe its some kind of initiation?) Anyway, glad to be here and hope to get/give good information. I have a 62 1/2 ton lwb fleetside I'm building ground up. It came from the factory with a 261/4spd. Have finished putting the engine together with 51bolt help after machine work and have an M4F cam installed. I have the option of using stock 261 carb, intake, exhaust or offy 2x1, fentons or combination. I've read about dual holley-webers but wouldn't a single h-w or 32/36 weber on the stock intake with the fentons do O.K?

The carb setup will be okay, but that's about it. My friend built a 261, full race cam, ported and shaved head. He started with dual Rochester singles, wasn't happy. Then we put on dual Webers, runs far better and faster, but he thinks he still needs more carb. If there was room under the hood, we would put on triples, instead we're looking for a cheap 4 bbl intake, and will try my 600 Holley on it. Your engine won't need quite that much carb, but I think you will be happier with dual deuces.
