Are you able to shift out of gear or is the lever stuck in position when this happens?
How much pressure is required when you step on the clutch? easy , hard? When the clutch won't disengage does the pedal feel firm, light, same as always? How new or old are all the cluthc components? throw out bearing pilot bearing, clutch , pressure plate, etc?
A worn throw out bearing is my first suspicion (also known as the clutch release bearing).

Have someone push in the clutch pedal while you look at the clutch arm. If the arm doesn't move much or at all, check that the jam nut is not loose. If that looks okay and there is plenty of movement, it's internal. Take it to the repair shop. If you want to do it yourself, look here: http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/shop/1948_51truck/index.htm

Thanks for the input John Clutch disc sticking to flywheel or clutch pressure plate can happen when rig sits, esp. in humid area. Clutch disc spline stuck to trans input shaft splines, Pilot bushing sticking to input shaft due are a few of the thing that come to mind.
