Does anybody have a picture of the windshield bumpers installed on a 1940 1/2 ton pu?

What holds them in?

These fit on either side of the cowl where the stainless windshield crank tongue protrudes. This prevents metal to metal contact between the lower windshield frame and cowl. Made of rubber surrounding an inserted metal washer with a hole for screw to attach it to cowl. You should still have two very small holes for the fasteners in the cowl where these bumpers were originally attached.

Do they fasten with sheetmetal screws?

Mike,
If I remember correctly they are machine screws, #8 x 1/2".
You could use sheet metal screws if your threads are messed up or use a Tap to re-thread the damaged threads.
