| | | | Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 11 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Aug 2017 Posts: 11 | I have a 1954 Chevy 3100 with a Mustang II suspension with a 1976 Chevy 305 and I am looking to put on a new exhast system. A lot of the headers I have looked at are 1 5/8 inch tubes.
Will the round/oval collectors fit? I think the engine has rectangular exhaust outlets. The plugs are not angled. What exhaust/headers have been used?

Any header system other than one with equal length tubes from each cylinder head port to the collector probably won't have any advantage over a stock exhaust manifold at any sane RPM range.

Because headers are always a tight fit in the AD trucks, especially on the steering column side, you might be limited to what you could fit in there. Check with some of the header manufacturers that have already solved these issues like Sanderson, etc. | | | | | Joined: Sep 2015 Posts: 157 'Bolter | | 'Bolter Joined: Sep 2015 Posts: 157 | If your looking for something that works well on a truck that’s street cruiser, I’d go with the rams horn manifolds. Speedway, Summit and others have many to choose from. They look and work great.
You may have to change your steering shaft arrangement but that shouldn’t be a big deal with the MII.
