So far I have been unable to solve the problem of how to connect straight header pipes into the exhaust manifolds that have a large bevel on the bottom. All the photos I have been able to pull up on this engine [351 either E or M] show ears on the bottom of manifold to bolt the header clamp up securely, but these manifolds have no ears. Have any of you guys ran into this prob? and how did you solve it? An exhaust shop stuck the new straight header pipes up into the cast manifold and tacked welded them- you know how long that lasted-. Does anyone know where or if custom headers are available for these big V6 engines, the addition of a collector to the header pipe would solve my problem! And get my buddy back into his "big ugly truck" as he calls this '68 C60 with a'78 Chevy crew cab with big rubber flares.

There are no headers for these engines, Yet. I know a guy workign one some, but so far he has not built them, he plans to offer header flanges once he get something designed.

Not fully understanding the picture here, BUT, my 345 IH has ring clamps, go around both manifolds and pipe with flange, held on by one bolt. Kind of like a swimming pool filter top, if you know what those are like. I think it's a bigger commercial truck thing. Try IH dealer, but need to know diameters of parts probly. Maybe a big truck repair shop or Powertrain type stores would be better choice, ones that sell turbos and so on. Think those migtht have similar clamp used on them also.

my Ferguson tractor has the same thing except mine is two halfs and 2 bolts i broke one the one time and my tractor mechanic in town had a heck of a time finding me another one the circle halfs are made of such crappy metal that after they get heated up and cool down so many times that when you take them off or put them back on after you took em off they just break kindofa bit of a pain in the arse but ya ain't sure how the exhaust bolts on to the manifolds on my 304 IH motor have to look into that once
