Swung by wood yard. Tried grey and brown.

Got a sample so I could figure out how the dado needed to be. I tried a few different attachment methods. The last one with a 35 degree back cut seems to be the best I think.

I set everything out with the 6" boards and strips. I am not sure if I like the skinny spacing vs the OE 8" boards? Lowes might have wider boards available. Not sure on the cost?

JW%!,

Special order from Lowes is crazy expensive. Sometimes they have wider boards in stock which are reasonable. Need to go take a look and buy some to compare what it looks like.

Yep, I was just curious myself if anyone sold a wider board. I do agree that more board and less hold down strip would look a little better.

FYI, my dad had a TREX deck - could not walk on it barefoot on a warm day.

Can't walk on a dark stained one either. Especially if you do the black resin into pine boards.
