On the homepage of the big truck section of oldgmctrucks.com is a green '53 GMC 404-27 with a grain box. Would anyone have a rough idea what the cab and chassis would weigh without the box? I have come across one that is very similar to the one pictured. Any help would be appreciated.

I dunno about the Jimmys, but I think the early 50's Chevy 1.5 and 2 ton trucks weigh in around 5500+ lbs without a box.

an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

According to the stuff GM just sent me, a 47' would weight in at 4625, for a 1 1\2 ton, or 4705 for a 2TON, just cab and chassis. The heaviest one listed is a high rack stock truck, at 6055. That one will bust a cheap trailer.
