For helping keep this great
old truck web site
on the Internet for over 30 years! and not clogged down with Ads! Again, thanks! | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 | On the homepage of the big truck section of oldgmctrucks.com is a green '53 GMC 404-27 with a grain box. Would anyone have a rough idea what the cab and chassis would weigh without the box? I have come across one that is very similar to the one pictured. Any help would be appreciated. | | | | | Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 Extreme Gabster | | Extreme Gabster Joined: Jan 2005 Posts: 1,682 | I dunno about the Jimmys, but I think the early 50's Chevy 1.5 and 2 ton trucks weigh in around 5500+ lbs without a box.
an idea is only stupid if you think about it rationally.

The heaviest one listed is a high rack stock truck, at 6055. That one will bust a cheap trailer. | | | | | Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 Shop Shark | | Shop Shark Joined: Feb 2005 Posts: 90 | Thanks!
