Fumblin,

Congratulations on your latest find. Think I'm gonna have to hook up the trailer and come up and spend a few days in your neighborhood this summer.

I'd like to see what other hidden beauties we might be able to stumble across.

That sounds like a blast! You'll have to clear out a weekend and come up and we can check out some of the spots i've got staked out.. I can take you to a place up the road that you'll absolutely mess yourself when you see it.. so bring a change or two of shorts!

Some stuff they won't sell at any price, and other times they'll pay YOU to haul it away. I guess thats why swap meets don't really put all that much lead in my pencil.. too many cool things sitting around around the countryside to see!

Sweet. I hope the hood side emblems are laying in the cab - they're rather hard to find.

They weren't.. somebody picked 'em off along with the chrome rings for the headlights some time ago.

I had a pair from the '39 GMC cab I put up on eBay.. they didnt sell all that well.. like $20 for the pair.. but one was kinda bent up.

Very cool, what is the wheel base? Looks like at least 160 inches or more. How about the drive train is it intact? What about the title and ID tag, did you get those also?

Very very cool. How about some more pictures. Would that have a flat head or an overhead valve power plant?

It's got an overhead valve 6 in it with the GMC valve cover, but no starter, and somebody put a button that says "start" on the dash.

Tranny, PTO, all that stuff is there.. somebody robbed the carb and starter off the motor. ID tag is there, AC 304 comes up as a 1.5 ton 177" WB truck.

I'm going to rob the PTO lever and the deal that goes back to the pump to put on my '46 2 ton, and use the windshield crank, old school aftermarket turn signal thing, and glovebox latch in my '46 1/2 ton, then send the rest out to eBay land.

Not sure what i'll do wth the frame.. it's pretty solid.. might have to build something out of it.

The only trucks that are keepers are my '46's... the 2 ton and the 1/2 ton.. altho I have a sneaking suspicion that one of these days i'll have to put a '47 thru '50 1/2 ton in the "keeper" catagory.
