I'm having the engine rebuilt in my 1950 GMC one ton, my mech.has replaced the valves with valves from a 283 cu.in. chevy. Has any one heard of this before? He changed the valve seats from 30 degs. to 45 degs.

Whatever fits is OK, they are all the same, unless something different like Na cooled, etc.

It’s fine, Hotrod Lincoln talks about the upgrade all the time. Sounds like you have found a good inline 6 mechanic.
