Greetings! I have a ‘39 Chevy 1/2 ton with what appears to be a 1952 passenger car 216 (block casting number begins with KAA). The thing that is puzzling to me is that there is another number also stamped in this location that begins with an F. It appears to have been stamped after the KAA number. My eyes may be playing tricks on me, but it also looks like there are smaller numbers stamped below the KAA number. After trying to figure this out for a couple of days, I thought I should check-in with the Stovebolt experts to see if they can shed any light on all these sets of numbers! My guess is it is a rebuilt motor at one time and usually they machine the number off and stamp there own but maybe stamped overtop of the original number after omitting to machine the pad smooth.
