I am finally doing some extended cleanup in my “boneyard” and have a LOT of iron bits and pieces — some dating back to horse drawn and Steam era. Much of what I have has been re-purposed or incorporated into other objects, but some pieces stand alone or there are still some recognizable/useable components. I’ve been just walking past most of this for 26 YEARS!
I know that there are companies out there that now market vehicle frames, beds, axels/hubs, brackets and such, so I’m not sure if I have salvageable parts, yard art or just old scrap from Bygone days.
I don’t know much about identifying or dating some of these items, so I have had limited success in an extensive internet research. There are only a few individuals remaining in my region that even have much knowledge in this area — all they can tell me is that the items are “OLD”. LOL. I had THAT figured already!
It would be nice to even get a little history lesson or re-direction from anyone “in the know”.
I had originally typed out a detailed list, but it came out to a whole page. I thought it best not to enter the whole thing here unless invited to do so or could do it as an attachment. I don't see a way to attach here, so would email it to anyone interested.
As a starter, I will ask 2 questions generally: What company used a C inside of a diamond on castings? What years did Ford, Chev and IHC have sloped slide rails on their PU beds?

At a recent Old Iron meet in the local park, I saw a 31 Chev coup with the curved front horns like I have on my frame with the "C inside Diamond" brackets as mentioned in my original post. As there had been recent rain and the ground was soggy, I didn't feel too inclined to lay down and look under the body for additional similarities. The owner was not present and I as unable to get further information and didn't think to take a picture.
Can anyone confirm or refute that -C inside Diamond- logo as related to Chev? I have tried to find info related to frame dimensions and profiles but didn't find anything for this era. Nor did I ever find that logo - or anyone familiar with it!

Don't know about a C inside Diamond, but this was stamped on my '51 Chevy 1/2 ton Pickup frame above the front axle on the left side.
As far as sloped sides on the pickup box, GM went to flat sides in '54. Don't know about the other manufacturers. You could do an image search on the web and find that info out.
