My new to me 1946 2-ton needs one set of rear brake shoes. A local and reputable shop has had the shoes for almost 4 weeks now while waiting for the shoe material to show up. Does anyone know where to go to get them relined? Thanks in advance.

Clutch exchange in Denver, CO, although there might be a closer place!

San Antonio Brake & Clutch in San Antonio, TX used to carry a lot of stuff. You might give them a call. (210) 226-0254 However, they may be like so many businesses. The old timers retire and the younger generation just doesn't care.

On my Chevrolet 56 6100 I sent all my shoes (including the parking brake shoes) to Brake Materials and Parts in Fort Wayne IN. Paid about $400 for all 10 shoes, including shipping both ways. They did a great job, came back repainted and relined, they look brand new

Dana,
I got your check today. Thanks. Did I miss a call yesterday? do you need another lining? I checked I and have some odds and ends. My phone does not tell me when I have missed a call. I missed one from Swansea. You?

Mike

Hi Mike,
No I did not try to call you today. I had the linings you sent me installed on the shoes by a local shop. Everything is back on the truck working fine. I only needed enough lining to do one side which was soaked with brake fluid. I just put the other set with the cracked lining on a shelf hoping I won't need it. I suppose if you have an extra lining kicking around I should grab it cause you never know.
