I have a 1948 3100 original truck with an old aftermarket horn that is not wired from the steering column. There are wires hooked up to the battery and It does work when I tap down the metal tab and make the connection. There is no wire going to that metal tab (not sure what the proper name for that is) and I'm not sure where it is supposed to come from. Any ideas on where the wire comes from to connect by this metal tab? anyone seen a horn like this before? thanks !! see attached pic
That's the relay contact you're pointing at. The wires to the coil need to be connected power and a horn button (ground) to make the coil pull that tab down and make contact.
