I just fabricated new vertices throttle linkage for my 261. It goes from the pivot point up to the carb. I used 1/4” x 28 rod with 2 heim joints on the ends. Now I have an adjustable rod!
34 Years. Now with a '61 261, 848 head, Rochester Monojet carb, SM420 4-speed, 4.10 rear, dual reservoir MC, Bendix up front, 235/85R16 tires, 12-volt w/alternator, electric wipers and a modern radio in the glove box.
Mine sits 1/2 off the manifold straight and I can lengthen or shorten it to get the full range of throttle and adjust my peddle slightly. I thought that this was easier than attempting to bend rods.
