How many gallons does the original tank hold? Not sure if it's the same as a '60-'62.

BolognaBurrito, welcome to the Stovebolt. If you haven't already, feel free to go to the Welcome Forum and introduce yourself. Tell us a little about your project!

I'm not familiar with the early to mid sixties Suburban, but there are plenty of folk here who are. Someone will come along soon and give you an answer to your question.

Again, welcome to the Stoovebolt!!

18.5 gallons is what I'll keep in my head. Fuel gauge is broken and it's a bit far down on the list to fix.

Thanks!

Welp, ran out of gas... luckily it happened as I was next in line at the pump, so the push was short. Only took 14.75 gallons to fill it up after that.

Now you know! Get that gas gauge working. Lots of good threads on it here.

My 64 C30 tank is 18.5 gallons, would like to get a second one for the passenger side.

I run mine down pretty far after the gauge hits "E" and i get 14 or so gallons in it. Always thought it was small, but maybe the othe 4 gallons are still in there? Lol. Or 14ish it is... headscratch

It seems the c 10 and c 20 panel with the filler door towards the rear has a larger tank , about 18 gallons where as the c 30 with the filler door just behind the
drivers door has it seems only a 15 gallon tank .
My 62 c 30 has the original tank and when the needle hits the E mark it quits . When at this point when I fill up I'm hard pressed to get a little better than 15 gallons US.
when filling up right to the cap .
I average just over 12 mpg a US. gallon and am comfortable running about 150 miles between fill ups.
That being said on the long haul I generally carry a full jerry can although I haven't had to use it yet .
