The Stovebolt Site Forums The Parking Lot Big Bolts keeping my 63 c-50

Ok i copuldn't part with my 63 so now comes the task of where to find parts, I have had luck at NAPA with the tune up stuff etc but what about the more specific stuff like

1) heater hoses
2) door lock mechanism parts
3) headlight parts bezels back pieces, mine are there just gonna need a few parts

these are a few of the immediate things any input is appreciated.

heater hoses should be available thru your local parts house for the other items you may need to order from American classics, Jim Carter's or some of the other vendors that specialize in reproduction parts. Or maybe find a backwoods junkyard where they haven't crushed everything.

The parts you mentioned are the same as 1/2 tons & are available from any of the suppliers mentioned in this forum. The heater hoses are universal.

ok thats what I thought but wanted to ask before I started to really get into it.

Are the fenders and cab the same as well? Obviously the running boards are not but it would be nice to get a set of fenders used and solid or otherwise because new england is rough on these old bolts

Fenders and sometimes grills and hoods are bigger on bigger trucks. Usually wider and bigger wheel openings. I think LMC truck offers catalogs for your year range. Nice catalogs. The cab stuff should be same as pick-ups, cept maybe the floor tunnel over trans, which will unbolt and switch. Sometimes the gauges may be diff in that the big trucks had more options and lights for equip to check. Think there is some forums for early 60's trucks if you do search on Yahoo Groups page. There is one for GMC's, but they don't like Chev's much there! GMC's were diff back then.
