Im purtinear sure im gettin a 59 chev viking 60, guy said body was in purty sad shape...i looked at it today..and its not that terrible...hehehe well fenders are banged up pretty good... but body is solid and has glass..and dash is all there.. and its got a supposedly good runninn 261 in it,, i put a hot wire on it and cranked it over,,cranks over even but didnt start..guy said tonight its been sittin for 4 years..and said id hafta prime it...duhhhhhhhh...LOL.. anyway hes gettin the key for me to try tomorrow... soooooooo i may have a 261 for my one ton..and may just end up with usin this truck and doin a small block..and makin a winch truck...time will tell... and all of this "El Cheapo" hehehe im kinda excited,,,all i need is more dang time...... cant believe it would crank for sittin for four years..??? hell of a battery huh..???? LOL.... cool

fatweed I'm glad that you found a fun vehicle that will be of use to you.

If I had tried cranking over an engine that way my luck would have produced a bent valve from being stuck open, or worse.

Does this mean you are no longer looking for a 216 head?

I was lookin for a 235 head.. i know where there are a couple of 216 heads..but cant use them.. heck can always use spare parts cant we..??? hehehe

PS i started that truck today... primed it.. dont wanna run on varnish from tank tho... LOL... anyway it will probly be a couple of weeks for the guy gets the bed off it..before i haul or drive it home.....
