Looking for a 12-18 circuit wire harness any feed back on brands and vendors
Had a 22 circuit speedway harness installed in my 52 Chevy truck and it’s never been right from day one don’t have time to go through each circuit one by one .
Guess you can say got what I paid for as far as insulation of harness wires everywhere
And have the stuff didn’t get hooked up horn, inside dome light, radio, cigarette lighter, electric wiper motor, and on and on
Started to look on Amazon for 12 circuit harness but ,
But seem to be off brand names but price point is pretty reasonable
Btw not running any big stereo system no electric windows no electric fans no power seats just a plain Jane
Thanks

I do not know if you are going to install it yourself this time or not. Please advise.

It will be less work to sort out the existing harness. Wires are probably marked. The items you say that are "not hooked up", are very easy to "hook up". If it was an original rats nest or a bunch of PO add on wiring, I would say install a harness kit. It sounds like that was already done. Just take a deep breath and begin to sort. There are VERY FEW wires on an old truck. It will all straighten out quickly. We will help.

Nothing wrong with that Speedway harness. Good choice. There are quite a few unused wires. I believe there must be something obvious if so many things are not working.
1. How old is the installation? I see you said a few years ago on another post. So those item have not worked for years???? Not hooked up from day 1?
2. Are those items not working and you assume they are not hooked up or do you know for sure they are not wired?
3. You may be over reacting.
4. Are you unable to check and sort?
5. Are you unable to install a new harness?
6. Do you want help to sort and wire or do you just want a recommendation and that's all?
7. When you said insulation.......did you mean installation?

installation I should always read before posting bad habit.
Yes I’m capable to sort wires and a big yes over react overthink task but get through them.so taking a deep breath and going
To pull the fuse block down and start there.
Thanks for the encouragement and will post questions if I run into a snag.

The ā€œname brandā€ aftermarket wire harness are very similar. Painless being very popular.

If there’s a problem᠁᠁..there’s a 99.5% chance its due to install issues. These harnesses take technical skill and detailed modifications for each and every circuit. Careful termination of each and every wire and connector crimps, connector weather proofing is required.

I have used Speedway harnesses a few times & have found errors in them. I just use an unused circuit instead of the destinated one. It waists a lot of time but thats one of the hazards.
Otherwise they have been real good.

They say money can't buy happiness. It can buy old Chevy trucks though. Same thing.

LaTroca, don't think it is necessary or advisable to remove the fuse panel to sort it all out. This will disturb other wiring. I don't see any advantage.
